If you have any questions about this notice or your information, contact us:

The business is based in Ashford, Kent.
What we collect and how
We only collect the information you choose to give us when you ask for a quote or book a clean. That usually means your name, contact details, address or postcode, and details about your property and the work you want doing.
The contact form
If you use the contact form on our contact page, we collect your name, phone number, email address (if you give one), postcode, the service you are interested in and your message. Form submissions are received and stored by our website host, Netlify, and sent to our business inbox by email using Resend.
If you message us on WhatsApp, your messages, name, phone number and anything else you send (such as photos of your property) go to Alex Bartsch's personal WhatsApp account. WhatsApp is run by Meta, and WhatsApp's own terms and privacy policy also apply to anything you send through it.
Phone calls
If you call us, we will see your phone number and may note down what you tell us, such as your address and the work you need. We do not record calls.
If you email us, we receive your email address, your name and the content of your email. Our business email is hosted by Microsoft 365.
Why we use it and our lawful basis
UK data protection law says we need a lawful basis for using your information. Ours are:
| What we use it for | Lawful basis |
|---|---|
| Replying to your enquiry and preparing a quote | Taking steps you have asked for before entering into a contract, and our legitimate interest in answering enquiries about our services |
| Carrying out work you have booked, arranging visits and keeping job records | Performance of a contract with you |
| Keeping financial and tax records | Legal obligation |
We do not use your information for marketing, we do not sell it, and we do not use it for profiling or automated decision-making.
Who we share it with
We only share your information with service providers who handle it on our behalf (known as processors):
- Netlify – hosts this website and receives contact form submissions.
- Resend – delivers contact form submissions to our business inbox by email.
- Microsoft – hosts our business email (Microsoft 365).
- WhatsApp (Meta) – only if you choose to contact us on WhatsApp.
Some of these providers may store or process information outside the UK, for example in the United States or the European Economic Area. Where they do, they rely on their own safeguards recognised under UK data protection law, such as adequacy regulations or standard contractual clauses.
We do not share your information with anyone else unless the law requires us to.
How long we keep it
We only keep your information for as long as we need it for the reasons above.
- Enquiries and quotes that do not lead to any work are deleted within 12 months.
- Customer and job records are kept for 6 years after the last job, for tax and accounting purposes, then deleted.
- WhatsApp messages and emails are deleted on the same timetable.
Cookies and analytics
This website does not set any cookies and does not use analytics, advertising or tracking tools. That is why you will not see a cookie banner.
Our website host, Netlify, may keep short-term technical server logs (such as IP addresses) to run the site securely.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to:
- Access – ask for a copy of the information we hold about you.
- Rectification – ask us to correct information that is wrong or incomplete.
- Erasure – ask us to delete your information.
- Restriction – ask us to limit how we use your information.
- Objection – object to us using your information where we rely on legitimate interests.
- Portability – ask for your information in a format you can pass to someone else.
Some of these rights only apply in certain situations. For example, we may need to keep financial records for tax even if you ask us to delete them.
To use any of these rights, email admin@ecowashwindowcleaning.co.uk. You do not usually have to pay, and we will reply within one month.
Making a complaint
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, please tell us first so we can try to put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), the UK's data protection regulator: make a complaint to the ICO.
